2014 Eagle Festival a Big Success

12 Jun 2014 3:51 PM | Hillary Clawson (Administrator)

With more than 3,000 visitors attending, this year's Eagle Festival was a big success. Guests enjoyed informative shows, speakers, games, music, and food.  A new addition this year was the Eagle Tent - a place to see and hear everything you might want to learn about eagles.  There was even an eagle cam! Representatives from the Friends of Mason Neck State Park, the State Park System, and the National Wildlife Refuge joined many other organizations to provide information about their efforts to preserve all aspects of the natural environment and wildlife. The Raptor Conservancy of Virginia gave people a very close look at several owls, hawks, and falcons. Thanks to the Friends volunteers who assisted with the festival and provided some amazing photographs for our exhibit!
